High tech coupons at your fingertips

$62.83. That's how much moolah I saved grocery shopping at Meijer this week. Guaranteed the 17 boxes of cereal I bought will be gone before August. I use military-like strategy to save that much money. And I'm an amateur compared to some.

As much as I love the horrified face of the pubescent cashier when I shove a mountain of coupons at him, there's an even easier way to clip coupons.

Proctor and Gamble will automatically load coupons onto your store's loyalty card. For instance, I signed up for the service, chose the coupons I might use and gave them the number to my Kroger Plus card. Not exactly top cyberspace security, but I'm good with that.

Next time I'm at Kroger and buy kitty litter, the coupon will automatically be deducted. And I don't even have to clip the coupon. I would have to buy a cat, however.

There are other sites that offer the same service. Also, next time you buy online and look longingly at the blank discount code box, check discount code finders such as this one. Don't be left out of a possible deduction.

Get 'em while they still got 'em

A recent finance report came out on Yahoo!. I know. Big Deal. The big deal is that Krispy Kreme might go out of business.

Perhaps you don't have a Krispy Kreme near you. Perhaps you don't know that a person can buy a HOT glazed donut, just as it's coming off the conveyor belt of goodness, right after it is lovingly bathed in a waterfall of sugary glaze. It is what the White Witch of Narnia would call, "Turkish Delight." It's moral demise in a cardboard box. It will rot your soul and your teeth. Delicious.

OR

Did you know...

You can take your kids' report cards into a Krispy Kreme and they will give you a  FREE donut for every A your child receives. FREE! So let's see...

5 kids
6 A's each

30 FREE DONUTS

Who needs dinner? Get yours now before they decide this deal is what's driving them out of business.

New and Improved Potty Training

I came across this giveaway contest over at momsational.com
The Gotta Go Mitts.
The answer to taking your wee ones potty in public places.

According to the website:
Gotta Go Mitts are the best product on the market for protecting your child’s hands from wetness and germs on unsanitary public toilets when your child has to hold on for balance, lift the seat, touch the flush lever, or like most toddlers, examine the bathroom floor and anything else interesting!

Having four boys, I think it's a lot easier to say, "Don't touch the toilet seat." All their apparatus is self adjusting and comes with a 'hands free' device.

It IS hard for little girls to balance on that huge porcelain toilet while trying to simultaneously NOT touch the actual toilet seat and trying NOT to fall in.

Unless you're teaching your kid to levitate, there's going to be some (eeewww) contact. It's a great idea for shopping, vacations, visits to the in-laws, or those times when you forget to clean the toilet.

I wish someone had invented these when I was potty training my kids!

Freebies!

I hope your Easter was a blessing to you! I did OD on the Peeps, but other than that, it was a great day.

www.hulu.com is now open to the public. Free movies and TV, whenever you want. I have a "friend" who introduced me to Hulu a couple of months ago. I'm not saying it's ok to watch at work, but let's say during a lunch "hour" or "free" time, it's fun to catch up on The Office.

So go get ya some Jim Halpert.

Freebies!

Hey Y'all,

Wow, did that ever feel weird to say. My-recently-moved-to-Texas-sister has taken to saying y'all like it's her cultural obligation. It's folksy so I thought I would give it a try. When I said it just now in my head, it sounded like YAR. My lips and tongue were in complete disbelief. I'm going to work on it.

Melanie over at Mommy Doodles discovered a FREE photo editing website. I said FREE, right?

Y'arll ought to check it out.

I'll take two dozen roses in Pepto Pink

Happy Belated Valentine's Day!

Guess what I got for Valentine's Day? The stomach FLU. Eeww. Nothing says romance like a bottle of Pepto. At least it's pink. My kids were so sweet to me during my hour of need. They volunteered to give me all the peace and quiet I needed. This meant they played Xbox games for an indefinite period of time while I wallowed away in my misery. It was all very calculated and organized. I'm not ruling out sabotage here.

Delusions aside, my husband sent me two dozen rainbow colored roses for V-Day. This is a huge deal because he knows I have a pretty dismal history when it comes to caring for living things (kids and pets aside). I'm a horticultural nightmare. Seriously, I could kill a cactus.

So he not only paid for the roses but paid for them knowing that he was sending them directly to their death. No living roses have ever survived a stay in my house. It would have been more humane had they arrived already ground into pot pourri.

It was a terribly sweet gesture. To show my appreciation, I gave him the flu too.

Speaking of the flu and dead flowers, 5minutesformom.com is giving away an Oreck vacuum cleaner to one lucky person. Just leave a comment over there and they'll help you get cleaned up.

Freebies!

Breaking News! I found some great web sites that offer giveaways! I know to most of you, this little revelation is akin to saying, "I found something called Velcro shoes" or "Have you ever tried something called a Big Mac?"

Nevertheless, sweetnsimpledesign.com is giving away a free blog design until January 31st. Can you imagine not using a template? I found the contest here.

I saw a delightfully carefree design I would love to have, with whimsical curves and scrolls in peaceful, placid colors like coral and sage. It reminded me of a warm bubble bath; relaxing yet informative.

My blog design is blech. It's rigid and stagnant and it looks like hummus.

It feels like a hummus bath.
